Tyler Hall Wayback Machine (June 6-28, 2015)The Art Association of Oswego announces the opening of a new art show at the Oswego Civic Arts Center on Saturday, June 6. The show, entitled Tyler Hall Wayback Machine will feature old and new artwork by former SUNY Oswego students from the 1980’s.

“Each artist will exhibit one recent piece of artwork and one from back in the 80’s” said Bill DeMott, Art Association Exhibition Coordinator and Oswego art alum. “The idea for this show came about when a last-minute gallery slot became available during alumni weekend. This is something we have all been talking about for years…what an amazing collection of artists and creative minds were at Oswego during the 80s and how that period and those individuals deserve to be revisited.”

The exhibition will be held Oswego Civic Arts Center. The show will open with a reception from 1-4 pm on Saturday, June 6th. The reception is free and open to the public. Also featured in the exhibit will be a tribute wall to the late George O’Connell, Professor of Art at Oswego from 1969-1991, who passed away on May 11th.

This exhibit will be on display until Sunday, June 28. The Oswego Civic Arts Center is located at the northernmost end of East 4th Street in Oswego, directly across from Fort Ontario. Regular gallery hours are from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday and from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sundays or by appointment. Group tours are encouraged.
