Round Trip Stuckism: Ron Throop Works With Russian Painters 

“Dear Hermitage, Do Not Forsake Your Native Son”The runs from Nov 5 to Dec 10.

The opening reception will be on Nov 5 from  6-9 pm. This event is free and open to the public.

Ron Throop resides in Oswego and has been painting and writing for over twenty years. He has shown extensively throughout New York State, mainly over past eight years, and has self-published eleven books. Throop is in regular contact with a group of painters know at “The Russian Stuckists.” Stuckism is an international art movement founded in 1999  to promote figurative painting as opposed to conceptual art. 
 
Throop writes about his experience with stuckism on his website (http://www.ronthroop.com/round-trip-stuckism) and in a blog (https://roundtripstuckism.wordpress.com/). This exhibit includes Throop’s pieces along with some of his Russian counterparts. 

The Art Association of Oswego is located in Fort Ontario Park at the northernmost end of East 4th Street in Oswego. This reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Regular gallery hours are from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays and from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sundays. This exhibition will run until Dec 4.
