Pottery on the Wheel

Experienced ceramist Audrey Proto invites students to join her to pursue their interests in learning the basics in throwing on the wheel. Along with the skills of centering, pulling the form, and shaping the piece on the wheel, students will learn to trim and foot their works, pull handles, and finish their creations with the application of glazes. All works are useful as dinnerware and/or sculpture. Students of any ability are welcome.

This 6-week classes meet on Monday evenings 6:00-9:00 beginning Monday, September 10th through Monday, October 15th.

  • Cost: Instructional fee = $133 for AAO Members and $190 for non-members, plus a materials fee of $35. All tools and materials will be provided. More information on membership OswegoArts.org/membership.
  • Instructor: Audrey Proto: Audrey holds a degree in Intercultural Studies, but her passion is ceramics, especially working on the potter’s wheel. She loves to combine beautiful forms and function in her art.
  • Registration  using our online registration form and pre-payment are required. You may pay online using PayPal (see below) or mail a check or money order to: AAO – PO Box 271 – Oswego, NY 13126. Payments mailed to our PO Box must be received at least 7 days before the class starts.
