Throwing on the Potter’s Wheel (November)

This class will cover an introduction to throwing pots on the wheel. Students will learn the preparation of clay, throwing basic forms, trimming the base, the drying process, and glazing the finished pot. The instructor will also provide additional instruction for intermediate students.

  • When: This 6-week class meets Fridays, October 25th – December 6th (there will be no class November 29th) from 5:30PM – 8:00PM. •
  • Ages: Adults (16+)
  • Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate
  • Max Students: 6
  • Cost: $147 for members or $195 for non-members (including materials & firing fees)
  • Instructor: Marybeth Sorendo; Marybeth has a BFA in design/crafts with a ceramics concentration, and was a production/studio potter for 15 years.

Pre-registration & pre-payment are required. We cannot hold a class at these costs unless we have a minimum of 4 students. Please register using the form below. You will have the option to pay immediately directly from the registration form using PayPal, or pay later using a check or money order. If the class is cancelled by the AAO, or if you cancel at least 7 days prior to the first class, your entire payment will be returned.  Payments are otherwise non-refundable.

  •  You won’t be able to get back into the registration form later to pay electronically.
  • You can use PayPal as a guest without signing up for an account.
  • Checks or Money Orders should arrive at least 7 days before the start of class. If there are fewer than 7 days before class starts and you want to pay by check, you need to contact us first.
