We are excited to offer another Throwing on the Potter’s Wheel class for tweens and teens. Students will learn the introductory skills of wedging, centering, pulling, and shaping clay vessels on the wheel. Additional skills of trimming a foot, forming lips, pulling handles, and glazing will also be included. All students will get hands-on experience with all of these techniques!

Register right away as there is a six student maximum.

  • Where: AAO – Oswego Civic Arts Center, Fort Ontario Complex (north end of E 4th St), Oswego. (Google Maps Address: 20 Barbara Donahue Dr)
  • When: Six Saturdays, Sept 22 – Oct 29, from 1-4:00 PM.
  • Cost: Only $25 – due to grant funding!
  • Ages: tweens and teens (ages 10-18)
  • All tools and materials will be provided.
  • Instructor: Rebecca Chatterton graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in ceramics. She has been a ceramics instructor at the AAO for several months.
  • Registration using our online registration form AND pre-payment are required. You may pay online using PayPal (see below) or mail a check or money order to: AAO – PO Box 271 – Oswego, NY 13126. Payments mailed to our PO Box must be received at least 7 days before the class starts. An email will be sent to the address listed on the registration form to confirm your child has a spot in the program. Registration fees will be refunded in full if the class fills and we are not able to accommodate your child in this class.

This class is part of our ART for YOUth program, which is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by CNY Arts. Additional funding is provided by the Patrick Glover Memorial Fund and other local donors.
