Drawing Horses with Lee Shelton

You might think drawing horses can be tricky, but with a little knowledge of their anatomy and some easy drawing techniques, you can draw these beautiful animals. Using basic shapes you can get the structure of the head and proper placement of the eyes, nostrils, and ears. Add some shading and your horse will become a nice drawing! We’ll start with the head, then explore the structure of the whole body, and how to go from a standing figure to action. With an understanding of anatomy, shading, and drawing, you can sketch all kinds of horses. Bring photos if you have any; I’ll have some photographs well as some Breyer models to draw from. Let’s draw!
